Gertrude was one of our favorite teachers. We loved her warmth and caring instruction. I vividly remember falling in love with Literature when she read out loud to the class, "Charlotte's Web". When your son was killed in Vietnam, the entire school mourned for your loss. We will always love Mrs. Porterfield. She is a milestone in our lives.
