Mom Cagle

Mom Cagle was a wonderful Mother, not just to her own kids but to many extra kids.  I wasn't at the house until Lela and i were in middle and high school, but  Mom Cagle took the extra steps to make sure that all of us extra kids were welcome in her home.

I learned many things at the Cagle house.  The main one being, chores always come first.  My chore aways seemed to be how to  rake and vacuum the new carpet and how to polish her pride and joy, the extra big new dining room table.

Mom Cagle always had breakfast ready, not only for her family, but any of us extras that had spent the night or just was stopping in our way to school.  Nobody could leave if they had not eaten something.

She always would take pride in being put together and looking good and made sure that all of her kids, (indluding the extras) looked presentable before we left for school.  She had no problem telling us if our skirt was too short, or if we had lipstick on our teeth.

She always had a  shouder to cry on for us when that impotant date didn't turn out or the Prince really was just a frog.

Proof that she was a good Mom, is when after high school graduation she made Lela go to work for a month picking Cherries and wouldn't let her stay wth me.  Of course my folks had just left on a two week trip, that was a good decision.  I'm sure that kept us both out of trouble.

God Bless Mom Cagle
