Steven Murray Reynolds “Steve” age 68, died at Columbia Basin Care Facility in The Dalles, Oregon. The cause of death was complications from a broken hip.
Steven was born on May 20, 1953 in Hood River, Oregon. He lived his entire life in the valley and was active in local Cub Scouts and Horse 4-H. He graduated from Hood River Valley High School in 1971 and from Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon in 1973, earning an Associate Degree in Fire Suppression. He worked for Hood River County as a Deputy Sheriff for 37 years. Steve suffered a severe head injury in an on-duty care / horse accident in 1986, but through grit and determination, he recovered to work another 25 years until retiring in 2011.
Survivors include; his longtime companion, Marsha Morgan of Hood River, Oregon; sister, Charlene Reynolds of Richland, Washington; nephew, Michael Keuhlen of Richland, Washington; aunt, Jo Owen of Brentwood, Tennessee; cousins in Utah, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; Alvin & Virginia “Sammy” Reynolds.
A Celebration of Steve’s Life is planned for 3:00 p.m., June 3rd, 2022 at Hood River Fairgrounds Community Building (3020 Wy’East Road, Hood River, Oregon, 97031). A private burial service was held at Idlewilde Cemetery of Hood River, Oregon.
