RUBEN J. MOSQUEDA OBITUARY:
Ruben J. Mosqueda, 73, of Hood River, Oregon, embarked on his final journey into God's embrace on August 29th, 2023. Born on July 18th, 1950, to Jesus Mosqueda and Maria Sanchez, Ruben was a man whose presence left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all else, Ruben was a devoted family man, a loving husband to Maria, a doting father to Ruben Jr. and Enrique, and a cherished grandfather to Justis, Rhett, Jenna, and Augustus Mosqueda. His warmth extended even to his faithful canine companions, Camilla and Sofia, his doggy daughters, who shared in his everyday joys.
Ruben's remarkable journey began in 1967 when he left his homeland of Mexico to work in the orchards of the United States, driven by a fierce determination to support his family across the border. It was during these toilsome years that he laid the foundation of his enduring love story with Maria, who would later become his beloved wife, in a beautiful ceremony in January of 1971.
Back on American soil, Ruben tirelessly labored for nearly 23 years, wearing many hats to provide for his family. His passion for cars and his remarkable craftsmanship became his calling. As he meticulously restored vintage automobiles, his love for upholstery flourished. In 1993, he embarked on a new journey, opening the doors to his own upholstery shop, Mosqueda Upholstery. Here, his creative spirit soared, breathing new life into classic cars and local businesses with his impeccable craftsmanship.
Through his work, Ruben didn't just repair cars; he built lasting friendships. His magnetic personality and contagious laughter endeared him to everyone he met. Ruben was a storyteller extraordinaire, with tales both true and embellished, each one leaving his audience inspired.
Ruben was a man of unwavering integrity, steadfast in his beliefs and principles. With his signature pants, button-down shirts, and timeless hats, he focused on providing the best life possible for his family, never seeking recognition for himself.
His legacy will forever echo in the hearts of his family and all who had the honor of knowing him. Ruben was the embodiment of selflessness, an enduring presence whose absence has left an irreplaceable void in the lives he touched. His boundless capacity for sacrifice, unwavering support, unreserved forgiveness, and profound love will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Ruben's life will be held on September 5th, 2023 from 1-7 p.m. at Anderson's Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Drive, Hood River, OR 97031.

Rubén J. Mosqueda, 73 años, de Hood River, Oregón, entró en el reino de Dios el 29 de agosto de 2023. Nació el 18 de julio de 1950, hijo de Jesús Mosqueda y María Sánchez.
A Rubén, el esposo, padre y abuelo más amoroso y devoto, le sobreviven su esposa, María; hijos, Rubén Jr. y Enrique; nietos, Justis, Rhett, Jenna y Augugtus Mosqueda; y sus fieles hijas perritas, Camilla y Sofia.
Rubén emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1967 para trabajar en campos frutales y enviar dinero a su familia en México. Finalmente, regresó a México para reunirse con su futura esposa, María, donde se casarían más tarde en enero de 1971.
Una vez de regreso en los Estados Unidos, Rubén apoyó incansable y fielmente a su familia, incluidos sus dos hijos, Rubén y Enrique, realizando diversos trabajos durante casi 23 años. Rubén tiene fascinación por los coches y parte de su afición incluía la restauración de coches antiguos. Aquí creció su amor por la tapicería y en 1993 abrió su propio taller, Tapicería Mosqueda. Aquí es donde la creatividad floreció y tuvo un impacto, dando nueva vida a los autos antiguos y a las empresas que necesitaban su mirada reflexiva y su meticulosa artesanía.
A través de su negocio, Rubén conoció a un amplio grupo de clientes que también se hicieron amigos. Rubén tenía la personalidad y el carisma natural para hacer amigos sin importar la situación, y su risa era contagiosa para todos los que lo rodeaban. Era un hombre con muchas historias, algunas objetivas y otras no tanto, todas las cuales sacarían conclusiones inspiradoras.
Como hombre de verdadera integridad, Rubén nunca cedería bajo ninguna circunstancia, sin importar si alguien tenía idea de por qué. Un hombre con un gusto sencillo por los pantalones, las camisas con botones y un sombrero característico, se centró en brindarle a su familia la mejor vida posible sin preocuparse por sí mismo.
Rubén fue un gran hombre cuyo impacto siempre será sentido por su familia, que lo ama muchísimo. Fue un hombre desinteresado cuyo fallecimiento dejó un vacío irrellenable en los corazones de sus seres queridos y de quienes lo conocieron. Su capacidad de sacrificarse, brindar, apoyar, perdonar y amar quedará grabada para siempre en todo lo que conocía.
Se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo Septembre 5, 2023 de 1 a 7 p.m. en Anderson's Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Drive, Hood River, OR 97031.
