Rick was born on June 25, 1959 in Alameda, California. His parents were Buel Gene Wigginton and June Hinson. He grew up in Beaverton, Oregon and graduated from Beaverton High School in 1977.

Rick joined the Navy October 20, 1981. He was an Electronic Equipment Repairman and spent most of his time on Navy ships. He traveled to the Far East and shared lots of great stories.

Rick became be a chef in Yakima, WA. His first job was at the Red Lion Hotel where he was the head chef for 3 years. He then got a job as a chef on the ship for Triton Seafood Company. Mike, I am so very sorry for your loss, and I would like to Thank you for being such a good friend to my brother, that I never got to know. Rick, Mom had a picture of you as a baby, about 18 months old. That is the only picture me and my sisters had of our big brother. I have been trying to find you the last couple of years, when I found out what your adopted name was. I was able to find your son and daughter, but I still kept looking for you. I am so very sorry I didn't find you sooner, I would have loved to have gotten to know you. I meet yup with you someday. Love your sister Nonnie
