Obituary for Raymond Sollman
On March 2, 2022, Raymond Sollman had passed away from natural causes at his home in Hood River, Oregon. Raymond was born on July 24, 1943 in Norfolk, Nebraska and was 78 at the time of his passing.
Raymond was a caring and compassionate human being. If you got the chance to meet him you would know exactly what I am talking about. The Sollman family moved to Oregon when Raymond was young. Raymond finished his education at the local high school. Raymond went right to working at the Coca-Cola bottling company.! During the time of working at Coca-Cola Raymond started his love for collecting a variety of Coca-Cola products. Ranging from Coca-Cola display signs to Kick-poo joy juice, and little branded Knick knacks, working with the company up unit they shut down. Raymond developed a talent for photography. He has an assortment of polaroid cameras in which he loved taking photos with of the people he loved most.
Raymond had many hobbies and activities he did all threw out his life.
In 1968-1969 Raymond was umpiring little league baseball games. A fond memory by an old friend stated that during one of the games he had yelled "f***” and Ray's response was " You can't say that, you are outta here" and the game went on.
Another activity Raymond would help with is the Relay for life. Raymond would do laps around the high school track with his mother betty to support the team she was on. Raising money for individuals who had cancer.
Raymond was also active and a long-standing member of the Elks Club here in Hood River.
Now I can talk all day about life activities Raymond did during his time in which the one we knew he loved the most was bowling.
Oh boy did Raymond love bowling. He not only loved the game of bowling but he enjoyed the connections he made with the fellow blowers at orchards lanes here in hood river.
So, in honor of a life that will be missed. The Sollman family and I are raising money for the cost of funeral and memorial services that will be updated prior to dates we set. We would like to give thanks to you and all who donate and help us by supporting and honoring the life of Raymond Sollman.
