Obituary for Raul Wilcox

Raul Wilcox (72) passed away on April 22, 2020 at his home in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Raul was born on January 9, 1948 to parents Rupert and Rose (Robles) Wilcox. He has three sisters LoriAnn Wilcox, Patricia Norma Esparza and Darleen Contreras. Raul was born in Phoenix, Arizona but also lived in Texas, California and Oregon.

While living in California he graduated High School and enlisted in the United States Army on September 23, 1966 he then was deployed to Vietnam in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1972. Although he never married Raul had one daughter Monica Rose Wilcox.

When he moved to Oregon he worked for Reser’s Fine Foods in Beaverton, Oregon for many years before retiring. Some of his favorite things to do were chopping wood and being out in the nature. He had a love for Harley Davidson’s, old cars, rock and roll and the blues. He also enjoyed watching sports like football, basketball, and golf.

Raul was preceded in death by his father Rupert Wilcox and is survived by his mother Rose Wilcox; daughter Monica Rose Wilcox; sisters LoriAnn Wilcox, Patricia Norma Esparza, and Darleen Contreras; niece Lisa Contreras and Sara Contreras; nephews Mark Esparza and Eddie Esparza; and cousin Sylvia Ness.

In lieu of flowers, you can make donations in Raul’s name to the Heart of Hospice Foundation (C/O Anderson’s Tribute Center 1401 Belmont Ave. Hood River, OR 97031).
