Obituary for Patrick "Pat" Bradley
Patrick “Pat” Russell Bradley, of Hood River, Oregon, passed away peacefully on April 21st, 2024 in The Dalles, Oregon, at the age of 76 years old.
Pat was born May 24th, 1947 in Hood River, Oregon. As a newborn, he was welcomed into the family of Eldon Frederick Bradley and Maria (Thurn) Bradley. Pat was the eldest of four siblings, followed by Kelly, Peggy, and Tracy. Pat attended Hood River High School, where he played on the football team. In his youth, Pat enjoyed school choir & band, and also played guitar with his own group of friends.
Pat served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps in Company A-4, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. He served in the DMZ and North Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He was awarded a Purple Heart after being wounded in action during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Pat married Judy (Frazier) Bradley in 1968 and welcomed his first daughter, Paris Rochelle Bradley, that same year. In 1971, Pat and Judy welcomed their second daughter, Monica Adelle Bradley. Pat spent his career as a telephone cable splicer, working across the western United States. Pat’s favorite pastime was fishing, and he spent many days with friends on the Columbia River. He loved being outdoors, whether it be camping, hunting, or water skiing. Pat loved family barbecues and especially cherished his time in later years celebrating with his three generations of girls.
Pat is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; children, Paris Beardsley (son-in-law Brian Beardsley), Monica Bradley (son-in-law Guy Bowie); granddaughter, Eliot Fenwick (grandson-in-law Jeff Fenwick); great-granddaughter, Josephine Fenwick; and siblings, Kelly (Micki), Peggy, and Tracy. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Maria. He is loved and missed by a large extended family and group of friends.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, April 25th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Anderson's Tribute Center in Hood River, Oregon before Pat's cremation at 4:00 pm. A memorial service will take place at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon, on what would have been Pat's 77th birthday, May 24th, 2024, at 4:00 pm.
