Obituary for Nelson Ray Martin

Nelson Ray Martin (42) died in a motorcycle accident on July 15, 2020 near Rowena, Oregon. Nelson was born in Hood River, Oregon on December 26, 1977 to birth parents Annette and Victor. He was later adopted by his parents, Herbert and Carolyn Martin.

Nelson grew up with his brother, Mike. He attended Hood River schools and graduated the class of 97’ from Hood River Valley High School. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, shooting and motorcycles. He was a contractor and worked in construction.

Nelson is survived by; his son, Ethan Hillmick; mother, Carolyn Martin; brother, Mike Martin; birth parents Annette Martin and Vick Snyder; and numerous other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Herbert Martin in 2018.

His untimely death leaves much heartache; there are two services that all are invited to be a part of.

A gathering is planned from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 24th at Anderson’s Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031). During this gathering family and friends will have the opportunity to write a special note, paste special picture or place a memento on Nelson’s casket which will be cremated with him. if you are unable to be present for Nelson’s gathering and would like to have your note or picture placed with Nelson you can email it to; ATC@gorge.net *we would need prior to 4pm on Friday*

A Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25th at Anderson’s Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031). Graveside Rites & urn committal will immediately follow at Idlewilde Cemetery.

Being mindful of the COVID pandemic and State of Oregon executive orders only 100 attendees are allowed indoors and 250 attendees outdoors social distanced with face coverings - all of Nelson’s services will be shared via Anderson’s Facebook Live page.
