Obituary for Michael Anthony Van Osdol

Michael Anthony Van Osdol was born Feb 26, 1951 and rode off to heaven to meet his beloved wife Rebecca on July 1, 2022 he was 71 years young.

Michael was born in The Dalles, Oregon to Dale & Eulalia and was raised in Mosier, Oregon and Estac􀀆da, Oregon. Michael joined the Marine Corps after graduating high school. He served 4 years including service in Vietnam. He later ran a fishing boat on the Oregon coast where he met the love of his life Rebecca. They were married and enjoyed a beautiful life together until her passing on November 12, 1998 when she preceded to Heaven.

He drove truck out of Astoria, Oregon until retirement. He loved riding motorcycles, VW's, helping others and was dedicated to Bikes for Tykes and the Coos River Run. He was an Oath Keeper and all around hero. He spent the last few years between Coos Bay & Mosier, spending time with Ann (Sis) and making sure she had anything she needed. He also spent time in Klickitat, WA and The Dalles areas with his friends. He was an incredible man, a loving brother, a wonderful father (even though he was my Uncle), grandfather and great grandfather (uncle) (emphasis on the Great), he had many friends and people that will love and miss him from here forward.

Michael is survived by his sister Ann Van Osdol, her children Bob DeRocher (Michelle), Mary Griswold (Robert), Liz Narciso (Rick), he was especially fond of his niece, Amanda Mattox (Dallas) and great grand nieces and nephews, his "Gingers", brothers Jim Van Osdol(Julie), children, Tom, Christine, Gwen & Laura, brother David, (Sharri), brother Andrew (Penny), children Jessie & Krista, numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews, and cousins galore. He was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles

The family is incredibly grateful to Scott & Diane for taking care of him until he said he wanted to go to VA Hospital in Roseburg, The hospice team from the VA, Shannon Garner and Roseburg VA Hospital.

A memorial service for Michael will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Anderson's Tribute Center ~ Celilo Chapel (204 E 4th Street, The Dalles, OR, 97058) with Military Honors and Patriot Guard.
