Obituary for Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Moore Doroski

Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Moore Doroski, born on February 6th, 1937 in Stamford, NY, passed away on June 14th surrounded by her loving family. Betsy attended school in Stamford where she enjoyed cheerleading and graduated with 8 of her classmates.



Growing up, she spent time in her family's diner where she later worked during high school. After graduating, Betsy worked as a dental assistant.  After meeting Anthony "Tony" Doroski, they were married when he returned from Air Force service in Korea.



The family moved to Hood River, Oregon after purchasing an apple and pear orchard. Betsy and Tony enjoyed spending time with their family, square dancing with the Wy’East Whirlers, sewing, knitting, and yard sales.



Betsy started working when her youngest was in grade school and after retiring from Jantzen's quality control department, she worked at Humanities Software as head of the shipping department.



Betsy spent many years volunteering as a 4-H leader, Cub Scout mom, and helping organizations such as Heart of Hospice. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Hood River.



Betsy is survived by her children Kevin Doroski (Beth-Ann) of Bend Oregon, Mary Doroski Haskins of Hood River, Daryl Doroski of Portland, Keith Doroski (Isabelle) of Hood River; grandchildren Michael (Katie) Doroski of Parkdale OR, Cody (Noel) Doroski of Lafayette, OR, Heather (Lance) Waack of Klamath Falls OR, Jennifer Haskins of Hood River, Lindsay Borg (Danny) of Parkdale OR, Christopher (Katie) Haskins, Cora (Matt) Flackus of TX, Keisha Doroski of Hood River and Kev Doroski of Little Rock AK, Julie (Peter) Adams; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tony; her son-in-law Russ Haskins; and grandchildren Kira and Donovan Doroski.



Betsy will be remembered for her community service and the love she shared with her family and friends.



A funeral service for Mary will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday July 16, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (1501 Belmont Ave, Hood River, OR 97031), with reception to follow at Anderson's Tribute Center. Private family committal will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery
