Marion A. Wright, 99, of The Dalles, OR, passed away on October 21, 2022. Marion was the second youngest of six children, born on August 17, 1923 to John and Anna Wright in Steele, North Dakota. After serving in WW2 for 2 years, 9 months, and 24 days (his answer, when asked), he returned to North Dakota and married his childhood sweetheart, Lois M. Schlabach. Marion and Lois had 2 daughters, Debbie Stroud of The Dalles, OR; and Sue Raymond of Portland, OR. After 35 yrs of marriage, Lois passed from cancer and Marion remarried Dora (Scotty) Jensen of Rufus, OR. They too, enjoyed 35 yrs of marriage until Scotty passed at the age of 94. Marion’s lifelong career of electrician served him well and he worked in The Dalles his entire work life. Marion did not know a stranger, extended a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and loved his family with all his heart. Marion spent his last 4 years at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles and was known by all on his wing for singing and sharing a song with any willing participant. He was adored by many, especially his 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren, and a plethora of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his generation and will be missed deeply and remembered with joy.
