Obituary for Leta Mae Edwards

Leta Mae (Moffeit) Edwards, passed away March 27, 2021 at her home in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Leta was born September 20, 1938 and was 82 at the time of her passing.

Leta was always a hard worker. After raising her 3 children, she worked in advertising to become the CEO of a National Photography Company based in Des Moine, Iowa. She returned to Oregon and went into the restaurant business with her daughter, Julie. However, her true passion was being the owner and operator of the Waterin’ Hole Tavern in Fort Rock Oregon. As the local residents became her second family, she grew to love the area and the community. She was proud of the fact that she was able to own the business and the property after only 2 short years. After her years in Fort Rock she returned to the Hood River area and lived out the rest of her life with her daughter and granddaughters.

Survived by;
• Children: Larry Edwards, Steven Edwards and Julie Hollamon
• Siblings: Doris Coseboom, Kenneth Moffeit, and Cathy Wyatt
• Grandchildren: Jamie Hollamon, Dannie Hollamon, Chris Edwards, and Amanda Edwards
• great grandchildren: Sylas Leaton and Sephira Leaton

A celebration of Leta’s life will be held at a later date when pandemic restrictions allow.
