Obituary

Judith Ann (Gray) Ensley “Judy” passed away at her home in The Dalles, Oregon on July 16th, 2019 with her son by her side. She was born August 31, 1940 and was 78 years of age at the time of her passing.

Judith was born in South Vienna, Ohio to Ned & Edna Mae (Hickman) Gray. Over the years she has lived in Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Mexico, Washington and finally Oregon.

Judy was a lover of all things in nature… except spiders. She was a caretaker of Monarch Butterflies; raising them, educating people and cities about the importance of their food the milkwood plant.

She is survived by her children, Morey Calabrese and Aaron Ensley; grandson, Jake Calabrese; and siblings, Nancy Hodichs and Dave Gray.

Judy was a very strong woman; she gave so much of her time to family, always being there to help. “I cannot say enough about how much she was there for me as her son”

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center • Celilo Chapel 204 E. 4th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058.

Judy was not just a dear friend of mine she was more like family. As co-workers in South Florida we quickly became close friends, having lunch together every day, swapping stories about our children, pets, etc. We had the kind of friendship that we could share the good and the bad with each other and sometimes manage to make each other laugh about the bad. Those memories I will always cherish. I wish I could have been there with her this past July.
Judy was a woman of faith, with strong Christian beliefs and she is in her Eternal Home now. Rest in Peace dear friend.
My sincere condolences to Aaron, Marci, Jake and other family members

Judy was a member of our square dance club, The Monarch Mavericks, in Salida. We enjoyed her wonderful & caring personality as well as dancing with her. She was always so stylish & looked like a model which I believe she was at some point in her life. We loved our time together & learned so much from her. She was a bright light to all who knew her. We send our sincere condolences to her family. Nancy Bowsher & Andrith Davis
