Gregor (Greg) Stephen Hartley passed away on August 23, 2019 at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, Oregon.
Gregor was born in Modesto, Ca. September 23, 1945 to Quentin D. Hartley and Joyce (Edwards) Hartley. As a child he enjoyed playing with his younger sisters Crystal and Rebecca, playing creative practical jokes and spending time with his uncles, aunts and grandparents.
After moving to the Los Angeles area where he spent is formative years, Gregor met his first wife, Hazel. She was to be his only wife for 55 years and 16 days. They were married August 8 1964 in Santa Barbara, Ca. Gregor and Hazel had five children Elizabeth, Jennifer, Gregor (II), Jedidiah, Abigail. Gregor took great joy in playful scares, the telling of a Jojo story he would make up at bedtime and the sound of his family's laughter and screams.
Greg was a self-made man. As a lifelong entrepreneur he started a number of business's including Hartley-Anglin Associates, Cafe' Orlean's and Greg Hartley & Associates. He was proud of being involved with major design and remodel projects in the Portland metro area.
His retirement years were spent enjoying long or short drives with Hazel along the Columbia River, taking in the spectacular views from their porch in Cascade Locks, Oregon and spending time with his Chihuahua’s and ever-growing family.
Gregor is survived by his wife and five children; his twelve grandkids; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A time to celebrate Greg’s life and for friends to visit with family is planned for 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2019 at a location yet to be determined.
