Dora Mae Boesch Gourley passed away February 17th, 2019 at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital. She was born October 2, 1938 and was 80 years of age at the time of her death.
Dora Mae was born in Haines, Oregon to Ferdinand and Bertha (Warfield) Boesch. She joined siblings, Anna Belle, Bonnie and Donald.
She has been drawing and painting since age five. She chose her subjects from anywhere there was interesting scenery; The Oregon Coast, Napa Valley and cattle country of Eastern Oregon. She especially loved to paint barns and animals. Many of her paintings are in homes throughout the United States. Dora Mae also enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and reading.
She worked for twenty years as a medical assistant. Dora Mae married Edward Wayne Gourley in 1992 and they shared 27 wonderful years together until his passing in 2008.
Dora Mae is survived by her daughter, Brenda (and husband, Larry) Deskin; brother, Donald Boesch; many nieces, nephews, cousins plus a host of friends including her precious kitty, Kayla. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Bonnie Lee Boesch Sipes and Anna Belle Boesch.
A private memorial will be held at a later date where she will be laid to rest at the Haines Pioneer Cemetery in Haines, Oregon.
