Donna Elaine Bushnell (80) was born on Halloween, 1940 in Portland, Oregon. She passed away unexpectedly, but completely peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2021 at Hawks Ridge Senior Assisted Living Community in Hood River, Oregon. She grew up in Portland, Oregon as the youngest of 11 siblings. She loved to tell stories about her childhood that included going to the movies, the beach, and babysitting. Donna was an excellent bookkeeper most of her life and ended her working career working with her youngest son Darren in the family business.
Throughout her life she enjoyed playing pinochle, camping, cooking, and watching the Food Network Channel. She was an excellent gift giver and her gifts were always wrapped impeccably. She had 1, if not 2 Dachshunds “weiner dogs” as beloved companions for the last 40 years; most recently leaving behind her precious Khloe.
Her granddaughters (Stefani and Dayna) have the fondest memories of her loving presence- giving pedicures and watching the Lifetime movie channel together. Donna lived in various places, including the Columbia Gorge and Boulder City, Nevada, but during her last several months, she enjoyed living close to family.
She was preceded in death by nine of her siblings; and her mother Myrtle Bonk.
She is survived by her three sons Darren Bushnell (Tamsin), Richard Bushnell (Sue), and David Bushnell(Terri); her sister in law and best friend of 60+ years Ellie Mills; brothers Gordy Mills and Fred Mills (Kathy) and several grandchildren and great grandchildren spread across Washington, Oregon, California, Florida, and Washington D.C.
Special thanks to Fred and Kathy Mills for being such a huge help the past few years and the caring staff at Hawks Ridge Assisted Living.
