Clarence Earl Lowell passed away after a brief battle with cancer with family by his side on September 25, 2016 at The Dalles Health and Rehab Center. Clarence was born November 13, 1949 and was 66 years old at the time of his passing. He has been a resident of Hood River County for over 30 years. Clarence was born in Spokane Washington on November 13, 1949 to Verna Milladene Lowell. He spent most of his professional career as a truck driver, more recently for Ryan Juice Company of Hood River. He loved the open road and freedom of the wind in his curly hair. Clarence would tell his family about the great beauty and natural wonders he had seen from the window of his 18 wheeler. Clarence found joy in working on vehicles. Clarence took his mother’s old Chevy truck and spent hours restoring it back to good running condition. Clarence tended his mother’s lawn weekly and was her daily companion for many years. Clarence is survived by his siblings Dr. Raymond Krieger, of Texas, Ruben Krieger, of Portland, Oregon, Sharon Slaughter, of The Dalles, Oregon, Richard Krieger, of Chillicothe, Texas, Debbie Elliott, of Odell, Oregon and Teresa Spratt, of Gatesville, Texas, son Thomas Lowell. Clarence is preceded in death by his son Timothy and mother Verna. The family would like to thank the staff at Heart of Hospice, the Hood River Care Center and The Dalles Health and Rehab for their compassionate care and love they poured out to Clarence in his last days. Graveside services with military honors are planned for 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Willamette National Cemetery (11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, Oregon97086).
