Obituary for Brian Timothy Cronan
Brian Timothy. Cronan passed away on December 21, 2020 at his home in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Brian was 55 years of age at the time of his passing. He was a loving brother, uncle, friend, and devoted firefighter.
Brian was born on August 14, 1965, to Francis Michael and Mary (Foody) Cronan, both of Waterbury, CT. He attended Hudson City Schools through 8th grade and Walsh Jesuit High School, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He graduated in 1983, and proceeded to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit in 1987. During his career Brian contributed his many skills to projects with various engineering firms, and was well-loved and respected by those with whom he interacted.
He had a quick wit and warm sense of humor. His compassion and concern for others was felt by those with whom he came in contact throughout his life. His love of firefighting and for his fellow firefighters ran profoundly deep and permeated his contributions to the departments he served.
He is survived by his brother Michael Cronan (Rebecca), sister Maura Cronan Gerstner (Bruce), brother Sean Cronan (Mia), brother Kevin Cronan, and beloved nieces and nephews; Patrick Cronan, Kaitlyn Stein, Mary Ellen Klukow (Ben), Catherine Cronan, Erin Cronan, Timothy Cronan, and Emily Cronan.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, Brian’s family requested that donations be made to either Carson Washington Volunteer Fire Department Association or Geneva Ohio Fire Department Association.
