Arthur “Art” Leon Dixon passed away on January 15, 2019 at his home in The Dalles, Oregon with family by his side. Arthur was born on May 18, 1952 to Ardith Leon Dixon and E. Mae Brock and was 66 years of age at the time of his passing.
Arthur loved his family, cat and his dogs. He really enjoyed his time out hunting and fishing. Throughout his life he went to California to learn bare back riding and his teacher there was Larry Mohan. At one point he enlisted in the army national guard. He also worked for Cody Logging Company. There he was a choke chain setting for falling trees and driving cat. Some of you may remember him as the custodian for district 21 at Wasco County.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Lewis Dixon; mother, E. Mae Dixon Haynes of The Dalles, Oregon; sister, Susan (and Rick) Dixon Knight of Goldendale, Washington; sister-in-law, Tempie Dixon of Salem, Oregon; and two nephews and spouses; three nieces and spouses; four great nieces; six great nephews; and step-son, Jesse Bejarano. He was preceded in death by his father, A. Leon Dixon; grandparents; sister, Madeline Wood; brother, Frank Dixon; and step-father, Glen Haynes.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Arthurs’ name can be made to American Heart Association for Cancer Research and/or Disabled Veterans c/o Anderson’s Tribute Center.
Military Honors are planned for 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 18th at Anderson's Tribute Center • Celilo Chapel 204 E. 4th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058. Family will scatter Art’s ashes at two special places privately.
