Baby Andre Dominic Christiansen passed away Wednesday evening, March 11, 2020 at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon after a courageous struggle with congenital heart disease. His mother was by his side. Andre was born on January 18, 2020 at OHSU and was tenderly cared for by his parents for 53 days until he passed into the arms of Jesus. He brought many smiles to those around him as he loved to suck on his pacifier and snuggle with Mommy and Daddy. Though Andre’s time on this earth was short, the love he inspired was beyond measure. He will be greatly missed by his family and many others.
Andre is survived by his parents, Keith and Helena Christiansen; one sister, Calista Katherine; two brothers, Felix Pascal and Anton Alan; grandparents, Jerald and Katherine Christiansen and Paul and Diane Telfer; great-grandparent, Martha Telfer and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Andre will be buried at Hartland Cemetery in Lyle, Washington. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other staff at Doernbecher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for fighting alongside Andre to give him each precious day with his family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation or to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Andre’s honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson’s Tribute Center 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
