Condolence: Dear Doug, Cindy, and Ashley, We want to let you know how devastated we are for the loss of a great young man. Our hearts are broken, Jason was such a large part of our son’s life, as well as ours. He became a fixture here, spending a lot of time at our house with Nick, doing guy stuff. He ate many meals with us, and spent so many nights here he had his own bedroom. The puppy dogs wouldn’t even bark when he walked in, and he always took time to give them loving. We can’t even count the number of times he and Nick would head out in the mornings to different dirt bike tracks in Oregon and Washington, on their own, or with their Dads before they could drive. Every time we come up our driveway, we look over at the dirt bike track that Jason and Nick built over the years. Those two would be out there working on that track with shovels, rakes, and of course our tractor, whether it was sunny, raining, or snowing. Jason always treated everyone as a friend, no matter what their age. Jason had a gift money can’t buy, he had a deep seated passion for life and people, with a positive outlook on life. We always called him our second son and loved him as such. Please know that were are grieving with you. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful young man with us, one who touched our lives deeply. We will love and miss Jason forever. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. With our sincere sympathy, Tracy and Pattie Wickwire

Condolence: I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss. Jason Degeus was a true friend of mine. Jason and I went to school together in The Dalles, Oregon. We went on to live together in Arlington, Oregon as we began our new careers as Wind Technicians. Since receiving the tragic news of his passing, I have been constantly reminded of all the great times we had together. While living in Arlington, Jason and I would golf almost everyday after work at the China Creek golf course. If we were not golfing, we were fishing, or finding anyway to be outdoors. We would play golf until we literally could not see. Looking back, Jason continually attacked life without holding back. This is a characteristic he had which i tried to replicate. Jason truly lived life to the fullest everyday. After Jason harvested a bull elk, we lived like carnivores for weeks on end, and truly appreciated every bite. Jason repeatedly told me "look at my smile in that picture, that is true happiness".(The picture of him with his Bull Elk) He was so passionate about hunting and everything that came along with it. Jason was one who truly appreciated every animal he killed. The passion, appreciation and dedication he put into hunting and dirt biking truly inspired me. This tragic news of his passing has left me realizing how truly precious life is, and how we need to take advantage of every day we have. I miss you so much my good friend. May you rest easy above. To Jason's family: May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences.
