Life Story for Yoshiko "Yoko" Duffield

Yoshiko “Yoko” Hayashi Duffield was born November 5, 1924 in Nagoya, Japan to Tsunezo and Shige Hayashi. She married Donald “Don” Duffield in 1955 in Japan. They moved to the U.S. in 1956 and started their family; a son Scott and daughter Konnie.

In 1974, Yoko became a U.S. citizen and frequently traveled back to Japan to visit her family. Yoko remained active and enjoyed her independence, tending to her garden and spending time with her family.

Yoko died tragically on September 20th in front of her home in Hood River. Yoko was preceded in death by her son and husband. She is survived by her daughter, Konnie Semmes, son-in-law Scott and granddaughter, Kianna.

Services are planned for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 at Idlewilde Cemetery of Hood River. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
