Obituary for Theresa Annetta Gardner

Theresa Anita Gardner (Jones) passed from this life on August 14, 2016 after a hard fought health battle.

Theresa was born in Cement, Oklahoma on October 17, 1936. The Jones family moved to Porterville when she was very young and she attended local schools. She lived in Porterville until 1968 when she and her husband, Don, along with their young son, Robert, decided to move to Oregon and she never looked back.

She lived in Hood River, Oregon for many years and that was where she loved to be. She worked for the United States Post Office while she lived in Porterville. In Oregon, she also found employment with the Post Office and later worked for United Telephone for many years until she retired. She found great joy with her life partner, George Lyons, in traveling, bowling and being with family and friends.

After George passed, she found great comfort and companionship with a puppy she adopted from a shelter and named Sasha. They were inseparable. Where Theresa was, there was joy and laughter.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Jones, her mother, Clara Jones, sister, Christine, brothers, Louis, George, Harley, Joel and Leroy, as well as 2 nephews which she considered brothers, Jack and Ken Delk.

She is survived by her son Robert, daughter-in-law Cindy, four grandchildren, her brother Luke, and countless nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly and will miss her very much.

To honor her life, a service will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 11 a.m at Anderson’s Tribute Center. A viewing will be held just prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
