Obituary for Marc Quentin Huey

Marc Quentin Huey of Byron IL, died Thursday June 15, 2016 in Swedish-American Hospital in Rockford, IL.

He was born February 21, 1952 in Portland, OR. He was the son of Arthur G. and Lillian J (Stedronsky) Huey. He graduated from David Douglas High School where he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and received a Letter for Marksmanship. Marc attended Oregon State University and received a degree in Nuclear Engineering and worked at Trojan Nuclear Plant until it closed. He then went back to school for Landscaping and Master Gardener. He moved to the mid-west in the late 90s to do consulting work for the nuclear plants there until he went to work as a Steam Generator Specialist at Byron, IL. He retired in 2012.

As a young man, Marc loved fishing and panning for gold on his claims. His favorite time of the year was Halloween. He would go all out with graveyards, witches and a haunted house in the garage.

Later in life, he was an avid NASCAR fan and had a TV in every room so as not to miss any of the action. He also liked to do some traveling and antiquing.

He is survived by his sister Margo M (Charles) Parker of Hood River, OR, nephews Charles David Parker of Tigard, OR, Anthony Thomas Parker of Damascus, OR and his significant other and longtime companion Deb Lambert of Leaf River, IL. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur Huey in 1976 and Lillian Huey in 1993. Marc's ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean off Depoe Bay, OR, Sunday July 31, 2016.

He lived life his way.
