Obituary for Victoria Mae Long

Victoria Mae Long died peacefully at her home on Eastside Road in Hood River, Oregon at 83 years of age on June 23, 2016. She was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Alvin Lee and Nettie Jane (Robertson) Edgemon.

Victoria has lived in Hood River for over 50 years. She worked in several fruit warehouses for many years. She loved her job and was very unhappy to be forced into retirement due to health issues. Victoria was known to family as “Susie”, to her mom as “Tormae” and to everyone else as Vicki.

Among the things Victoria loved was her family: She had three daughters; Lorraine Bickell of Hood River, Oregon; Judy Hill of Sandy, Oregon; and Kim McHugh of Nevada, Missouri. She had three grandchildren; James Bickell, Brittany Parker and Bethany Brown, and three great grandchildren; Crimson, James, and Zion. Also not to be overlooked were her loyal dogs that would not leave her side, Tiny & Jagger. Conversation with mom always included how good they were, how she got them and how much she loved them.

Special thanks to the special people at Providence Hospice of Hood River, who, with their help, kept mom at home.

A graveside gathering will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Pine Grove Butte Cemetery (2687 Van Horn Dr., Hood River, Or. 97031.

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
