Condolence From: Darcy Bryan Mugartegui
Condolence: I have known John since I was 14 years old and we shared many years of memories. I remember when I was 20 and he rode this crazy old pan head harley to my house and it broke down. He was my escort to my College Graduation Ceremony during Portland Rose Festival and he insisted on his dress uniform but, while on the ship he had tried on and it was too snug. He told me he ran around and around the ship to lose weight. He would come and visit with Little John and we would take kids to play at Paradise River or Leverich Park. He lived with my family in 1993 and once he got on his feet again he went to do the pilot car business and would stop when in the area. We last saw him on April 15th 2014 when he came to my sons funeral. He loved my kids and they knew and loved him as Big John.
It will be a big hole in our lives but, now he is with Charlie so I am sure he is tickling Charlie and Charlie would take his wheelchair while wearing his flight deck helmet.
By to my friend and I am so glad for all the memories and maybe some day we will be riding the big blue car in heaven instead of the Gut.

Condolence: John was a friend for several years when we pastored in Hood River. I was very sorry to hear of his death. He joked with me often that he was another one of my kids as he often sat at our table for meals after church. When my husband passed away, John put his name on a brick at the hospital where John was driving the bus. He loved his Pastor Jim. Please know that I'll be thinking about you as his family and praying you will feel God near as you remember my friend John.

Condolence: I can remember growing up with Julie and how excited she would get when she knew her brother John was coming home. She had such great admiration for him. When he arrived she would jump into his arms and he made her feel like she was all that mattered. At that moment - time stood still. Sorry for your loss my dear friend. May you always remember the good times.
Jueva
