Obituary for Madelyn Margaret Simpson

Madelyn Margaret Simpson
Madelyn Margaret (Monaghan) Simpson, who lived most of her life in Hood River, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve, 2015, at her home in Mosier, OR.
Madelyn was born on January 6, 1922 in Coeur d' Alene, ID to Elmer Lawrence Monaghan, and wife Virginia Louise (Garrett) Monaghan, being the second of eight children.
As a young child they moved from Idaho to Hood River, where she attended the Valley Christian Church, Barrett grade school, and graduated from Hood River High School. On February 17, 1939, in Stevenson, WA, she married the love of her life, Wilbert Harris Simpson, with whom she had five children.
Madelyn devoted her entire life to serving her Lord in Heaven, and her family here on earth. For over forty years, she lived at the Simpson home on Paasch Drive in Pine Grove. She enjoyed both reading and writing poetry from her youth, and in mid-life painting with oils, leaving many pictures which family members still enjoy to this day.
She is survived by her children: Phyllis of Milwaukie, OR; Gary of Hood River, OR; Steven of Rufus, OR; Stanley of San Diego, CA; Gregory of Mosier, OR; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Madelyn was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, and one brother, as well as Wilbert, her husband of forty-nine years.
