Janet Maxine Peterson, 84, passed away November 15, 2015 at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

Janet was born October 17, 1931 in The Dalles, Oregon to Alfred and Gladys Kohlor. Janet graduated from The Dalles High School in 1949. She married Byron May on January 21, 1951 and they had four sons. They moved to Hood River In 1965. Their marriage ended in 1970. She married Robert W. Peterson in 1972. She worked as a grocery checker, veterinary assistant and office clerk at the Hood River Elks Lodge. Janet enjoyed her garden, music, crafting, playing bridge, and trips to casinos. She is survived by her sons Michael, Guy and Patrick May of Portland, Oregon; stepdaughters Susan Bevins of Carson, Washington and Jodie Peterson of Puyallup, Washington. She was also survived by her beloved Bill Cross.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Robert Peterson and a son Kelly May.

At Janet’s request no services will be held, but a private family interment at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon.
