Life Story for Flossie Bible

Flossie  Bible
Flossie Marie Bible, 95, who lived at Odell Mobile Home Park, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Parkhurst Place in Hood River, Ore. She was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Purdy, Mo., the eighth of 15 children born to George Nelson and Christina W. (Stolhand) Lane.

The Lane family lived in Purdy, then Wagner, Okla.; Nebraska and Colorado; and back to Oklahoma before migrating to the Hood River Valley in 1938. Flossie attended Hood River High School for her senior year, graduating in 1939.

Shortly after graduation Flossie married Frank W. Bible on May 27, 1939, in Goldendale, Wash. They made their home in the Hood River area and started their family.

Flossie is survived and will be dearly missed by daughters Vera Rojas, of Tualatin, Ore., Barbara (and Jim) Lee, of Loomis, Calif., Donna (and Roger) Shute, of Hood River, and Caroline (and Mike) Frahm, of Hood River; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters Jewell Anderson, of Portland, Ore., and Florella Rayon, of The Dalles, Ore.; brother Ray Lane, of Hood River; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank (Ikie) Bible, parents and 11 siblings.

Viewing is scheduled from 12pm-5pm, Friday, July 31st, 2015 at Anderson's Tribute Center.

Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Anderson’s Tribute Center. A reception will immediately follow her service and then graveside rites at Idlewilde Cemetery.

Memorial donations are encouraged to be made in her name to the Wy’East Volunteer Fire District and/or Providence Hospice of the Gorge.
