Alvin Clyde Flory, Jr. passed away on Saturday April 25, 2015 at the Hood River Care Center in Hood River, Oregon surrounded by his loved ones. Alvin was born on July 24, 1949 and was 65 years of age at the time of his passing.
Alvin was born in Eugene, Oregon to Alvin Flory Sr. and Hazel Huckaby. He moved with his family to Hood River County and attended local schools. After high school he worked at the trailer factory in The Dalles where he met life long friend, Jim Duval. Alvin then worked 25 years at Hanel Lumber Company and then for Northwest Aluminum until his retirement in 2006. Alvin enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, roller skating, fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Alvin is survived by his daughter, Holly Flory of Parkdale, Oregon; mother, Hazel Flory of Hood River, Oregon; sister, Brenda Meyers of Parkdale, Oregon; brothers, Perry Flory of Parkdale, Oregon and Brad Flory of Hood River, Oregon; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Sr. in 2002.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29th at the Upper Valley Parkdale Cemetery (6917 Allen Road, Parkdale, Oregon). A reception will follow at the Parkdale Fire Station.
Memorials can be made to Anderson’s Tribute Center to assist family with funeral expenses.
