May the Benjamin family and all Bette's family and friends find peace at this time. She is one loved lady who has left quite a legacy and is greatly missed.

How vividly she lived and served, how bright was her presence as neighbor and community mover, how deep was her love of the mountain valley, how energetic was her giving to the children who crossed her path. Condolence: Dear Benjamin Family- Mrs Benjamin as I called her when she taught me at Wyeast Middle School, was my favorite teacher. She gave me hugs and smiles and encouraged me to be a good girl. I remember we would do folk dances and activities for PE and she made them so fun. Later, I would love to see Mrs. Benjamin at Rosauers when I was a grocery checker. I am so very sorry for the sadness you are feeling. I pray God wraps His peace around all of you. Sincerely, Gina

Condolence: Dear Rick, Bette and you fill my memories as far back as they go. From gymnastics in the 70s (which I still remember my routine and showed Bette nearly 30 years later) to my years with her at Pine Grove. I feel so lucky to have got to bask in her loveliness and light. She spread such love and kindness to everyone and she talked about her love for you and her family to everyone. I hope for some peace and comfort for you in sharing the funny and happy stories of all of your memories with a wonderful woman.

Condolence: Dear Rick, Vanessa, Cecily and Lindsay, I send you my deepest condolences in this very sad time. Bette was not only my favorite teacher at the time, but also a wonderful role model for me when I was in Junior High. I never thought of myself as athletic, but she taught me that I could set my own goals and achieve them. She helped me to earn confidence in who I was, and to believe in myself and my abilities. This was a profound message to a 13 year old girl. I was fortunate to have her as a neighbor and friend as I grew older, and I was blessed by her generous heart and kindness. She wasn't one to make small talk. She always cared deeply and wanted to talk about the things that matter in life: relationships, loved ones. She made the most of every day and valued everyone who crossed her path. She was an amazing and beautiful human being. I am so grateful that she was in my life. I send my love to all of you.

Condolence: Rick, Vanessa, Cecily and Lindsay, I am sad beyond words for your loss. Bette was such an important person in my young life back in the mid-70s at Wy'east and over the years, I've thought of her and you all so often. How honored I was that you and she attended my wedding, Rick, on your 24th anniversary to boot. What an honor to share such a special date. My deepest heartfelt sympathy to each of you and I hope the hole where your beloved was will soon be filled with happy memories.
