Lois Eileen Claflin passed away peacefully on November 9, 2014 in Hood River, Oregon surrounded by her family. Lois was a fifty plus year resident of Hood River, Oregon.

She met her husband Ralph Claflin of sixty years when she was a telephone operator at Medical Lake, Washington. They were married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Lois also worked in the kitchen at the Hood River Valley High School as an assistant and cook.

Lois enjoyed gardening, canning, and farming. She also enjoyed quilting and made many award winning quilts. She loved people and spending time with her friends and family. Lois and Ralph were members of the Wy’East Whirlers square dance club, The Legion and Eagles clubs. After retiring Lois and Ralph travelled throughout the Pacific Northwest and to Virginia, Texas, North and South Dakota, and Wisconsin to visit family and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Sidney and Delia Johnson of Medical Lake, Washington, her sister Maryls Weatherill and her daughter Donna Bailey of Odell, Oregon.

Lois is survived by her husband Ralph Claflin of Hood River, Oregon; son David Claflin of Norfolk Virginia; daughter Dixie Arrington of Parkdale, Oregon; son Kenneth Claflin of Hood River, Oregon; son Dayne Weatherill of Hood River, Oregon; and sister Fern Revill of Medical Lake, Washington. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held for Lois at a later date.
