Obituary for Clarice "Sunshine" DeLeon

Clarice “Sunshine” DeLeon, age 37, of Mosier, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly from complications of diabetes on Monday July 21, 2014 at the Providence Hood River Hospital in Hood River, Oregon surrounded by her loving family. Sunshine was born on January 12, 1977 in The Dalles, Oregon to Nick and Clara (Guzman) DeLeon. Sunshine grew up in The Dalles area and graduated from The Dalles-Wahtonka High School in The Dalles, Oregon in 1995.

Sunshine worked as a Graphic Artist at the “Print-It” Shop and in her free time enjoyed making jewelry, knitting, gardening, and dancing. She especially loved spending time with her partner of five years, Chris Guerin and her beloved pet dog Diesel.

Sunshine is survived by her mother Clara DeLeon and stepfather Diego Leon of Mosier, Oregon; her partner Chris Guerin and pet dog Diesel; her father Nick (Trinidad) DeLeon; brothers Eugene Perez of North Bonneville, Washington, Nick (Kelly) DeLeon of The Dalles, Oregon, Derek DeLeon of Moxee, Washington and Cody DeLeon of Moxee, Washington; nephews Rylan and Styles DeLeon and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Sunshine is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Thomas and Maria Guzman, paternal grandparents Regino and Petra DeLeon, Aunt Margaret Guzman, and Aunt Julia DeLeon.



A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday July 25, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with a time for food and fellowship to follow immediately after at Anderson’s Tribute Center 1401 Belmont Avenue Hood River, Oregon.
