Condolence From: Elizabeth Vaivoda
Condolence: I didn't know Matt personally but encountered him in Post Canyon a few times. I remember struggling to come down a hill and he coached me from below telling me to "Stick out your elbows." This is someone I didn't know, willing to help me - a stranger - not only get over an obstacle but learn a skill that would improve my riding. He was great human being and an example to all of us.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. You are in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Matt was always kind and friendly whenever we crossed paths. I did not know him that well but he was a great husband to my friend Jen. He lived a life that I respect and strive for. So athletic and excited for the next adrenaline rush. My kind of guy! I send my thoughts to his family and friends and know that he will be missed by many. I am sorry for his loss and send my strength and energy to all that were part of his life.

Condolence: we will never forget you & Jenn flying to Mexico after the car accident & uncle Kim's heart attack. Your knowledge of the language & internet made the process much easier. your compassion & genuine caring gave us some calm in the midst of the chaotic situation.Janine & I didn't know you very well but we both agreed Jenn had a "keeper" in you. Your support for Lue & Jenn, as they prepared to bring Jenn's dad's ashes home, will never be forgotten.

Condolence: I only recently formally introduced myself to Matt at Dirty Fingers where he was engaged in a conversation to even better improve Post Canyon trails.
I talked with Matt for a brief time. My initial impression was that of a soft spoken yet to the point get it done guy who actually listened to my scattered thoughts. I have spoken with several of Matt's close friends and they have let me know that the man I introduced myself to that evening was the man they have admired for the same virtues that I realized and more. I will always think of Matt when ridding the trails that he was instrumental in providing for our pleasure.

My sincere condolences, Steve
