Life Story for Elaine C Yoder
Elaine Catherine Yoder passed away on March 17, 2014, at Columbia Basin Care Facility, The Dalles, Oregon. Elaine was born November 6, 1920, in Boswell, Pennsylvania, to John and Daisy Mae (Hemminger) Glessner. She was 93 years old.
On January 24, 1942, she married John William Yoder, Sr. in Boswell, Pennsylvania. They were blessed with three children, Judi Rose, John Yoder, Jr., and Nancy Shulha.
She was an active wife and mother. Her hobby was playing golf. She was an active Leader of the Girl Scouts for many years. She was a member of the Leesburg Grace Brethren Church, Leesburg, Indiana.
She is survived by her children; Judi (Marlin) Rose of The Dalles, Oregon, John (Beatriz) W. Yoder, Jr.of Boca Raton, Florida, and Nancy (Bill) Shulha of Ft. Myers, Florida. Six grandchildren, Jennifer Mathisen, Corey Rose, Erin Canali, Jessica Altmann, Troy Yoder, and John Michael Yoder. Also, 11 great grandchildren, Connor, Kellen, Caden, and Kraeton Mathisen; Kennedy, Macguire, and Emerson Rose; James and Henry Canali; Elaine and Tess Altmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers; Gene Glessner and Meredith Glessner, both of Florida.
Elaine will be cremated and no services are planned.
Memorials are encouraged to be given to the Leesburg Grace Brethren Church, Leesburg, Indiana.
