Condolence: Big Al. Gone from here but not forgotten. I'll always remember him when I use that rubber pick he gave me. He knew I would like it. Or when I post something I'll know I need to fact check it first with Wikipedia. He was an old soul and may not need to come this way again but I'll catch him on the flip side. He was a good man. And we know Jesus though of him as a brother :)

Condolence: This caught me off guard. Heartbreaking to read this and I'm so sorry Al is gone. I can't count the many times he was always available to help answer any questions myself and others would ask of him on Forums. Such a brilliant mind and nice man. Thanks for everything Al. Gone but never forgotten. Tim B.

Condolence: I knew Al for over 40 years. He was a good man. Highly intelligent, compassionate, musically gifted. He could always take something so serious, soften it and make it into a laughing matter. He will be missed by many. We will cross paths again in the futurem but just not now. God Bless You Al.

Condolence: I am so thankful that we were able to rekindle via facebook. What a sense of humor and positive outlook. I shall miss all those pictures and words of wisdom. You could see Al's passions and kind heart in his postings and his love of his new bride. I am so sorry Shari that your life together was way to short. I shall listen for Al's music to come down from heaven. My condolence to the entire family and pray the memories you have will help keep Al forever in your hearts. I will never forget.

Condolence: I'm blessed to have rekindled my friendship with Al within the last year or two, both of us having ended up in the Portland area after graduating together from Sparta High. Not only did we connect, but I got to attend his wedding party and get a wonderful hug from him before I left. Thank goodness - I'm really glad I got to let him know how much I care about him. I'll continue to be thinking of you, Shari.. I'm so sorry you lost your prince so soon.

Condolence: Al was not the type of man who wanted to hear all the mushy same old clichés that most of us use when someone passes away. He was a very unique individual who called it like he saw it, not a pretentious bone in his body. Al wore his hair long when it wasn't the style of the day. He never concerned himself with trivial matters that didn't or wouldn't benefit the world in general. His essence will be missed by so many this is a fact. I will keep my head high and honor you as a friend, and not bowed and miss any opportunity for any sign you have for all of us.

Condolence: I've known Al since 1984 through work at Emerson. Al was one of the coolest and smartest guys that I've had the pleasure to know. Al and I played together in a band before he moved to Hood River. Al was a very good singer and fun to work with! We were in Germany together and we really enjoyed ourselves. Many condolences to Al's family! We will miss Al. He was always great and a wonderful friend! Tom and Charlotte Schouten

Condolence: So sad to hear about Al's death. I remember him being a creative, extra intelligent, unique guy in Sparta High School orchestra and several classes. A couple years ago we happened to touch base through the internet. I'm glad I heard about his life, which has ended way too soon, and saw his happy face and twinkling eyes in pictures. May God bless everyone who knew Al with great memories and inspire us to keep making music forever.

Condolence: My condolences to the family. It is my hope you find comfort in God's word. The Bible makes the promise: “Your dead ones will live.…They will rise up.” And the Bible also says: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Isaiah 26:19; Psalm 37:29
