Wilda Hill Goe
Wilda Hill Goe passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones at the Down Manor in Hood River, Oregon.

Wilda was born on July 28, 1923 at Wapanitia, Oregon to Samuel Nathan Hill and Alpha Lavina (nee Mayfield) and was 90 years of age at the time of her passing.

In her youth she attended grade school at Warms Springs, OR until she was ten years old. Her family then moved to Hood River and she attended Pine Grove grade school, and graduated from Hood River High School in 1941.

Wilda and family farmed the same land that Merle’s parents farmed. In addition to farming and raising four children, Wilda enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating wedding cakes, making candles, and playing cribbage and pinochle with family and friends. She was a member of a bowling team, winning several trophies, coached her daughter’s summer softball team, and followed her grandchildren in as many functions as was possible. The family enjoyed summer vacations camping at “Happy Camp” at Netarts, Camp Yallani, and fishing at Diamond Lake.

She will be greatly missed by her many family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Wilda was preceded in death by her twin sister, Hilda, her sister, Ruth, and brothers Webb Hill and Kenneth Hill.

Wilda is survived by her children Michael Goe (Geraldine) of Hood River, Judith Krussow (Ralph), of Corbett, Patricia Hinman, (Richard), of Hood River, and Suzanne Larsen, (Steve) of Independence, OR. She is survived by her ten grandchildren, Ken Goe, Kelly Hudson, Michelle Farnes, Mark Krussow, Matt Krussow, Kirk Hinman, Jennifer Hinman, Jason Larsen, Adrian Larsen, and Joshua Larsen. There are also 15 great-grandchildren.

Services are planned for 11:00 am, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Anderson’s Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, OR 97031. A reception will follow at the Hood River Valley Adult Center with food catered by her favorite “Grace Su and China Gorge” with graveside rites at the Pine Grove Butte Cemetery that afternoon.

Memorials are encouraged to be made in Wilda’s name to Hospice of the Gorge, Hood River Little League, or the Pine Grove Fire Department.
