Bioggio “Joe” Verdi passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hood River on November 19, 2013. Joe was born in Akron, Ohio on January 5, 1949 to Marion (Sam) and Betty Jean (Honnick) Verdi. Joe graduated from Manchester High School in Akron, Ohio, attended Kent State University in Ohio where he studied computers and photography. Joe then proudly served our country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was also a resident of California, Montana, Washington, and Central Oregon.

Joe was married to Sharon Butler and their son Ryan was born from this union. Joe was employed as a Builder and Master Carpenter and Craftsman for many years and specialized in custom woodworking and construction from the ground up, Joe was also employed as a high end car salesman, a broker, worked in management and was a business owner. In his free time, Joe loved to play golf, photography, art, gardening, landscaping, fishing, boating, diving and loved to cook - often feeding the neighborhood his sumptuous dishes. Joe was a proud member of the Hood River Golf Club.

Joe leaves his son Ryan F. Verdi of Portland, Oregon, his companion of the last two years Donna Desrochers, Brothers John Michael Verdi, Ken Verdi, Giuseppe Verdi and Robert Verdi, nieces Amanda Senrud Dayton, and Alana Blakely, nephews Brent Senrud, Phil Senrud, Eric Senrud, Logan Senrud, John Verdi, Bioggio Verdi, Vanessa Verde, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his grandmothers Mary LaPerry, Bioggio Verdi, Brother David Verdi, and niece Brandy Verdi.

Joe’s family fondly remembers the unconditional love Joe had for those close to his heart. Not only was he a proud father but is being described as stylish, artistic, independent, charismatic, generous and compassionate. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends
