Obituary for Peggy Lough

Our beloved mom, grandma and friend, Peggy Lough, left this world Tue, October 15. Peggy was born to Jack & Sylvia Halliday on February 11, 1927, in Hood River, Oregon. She spent her early childhood on “the mountain” in Parkdale. Though she left the mountain, later graduating from Milwaukie High School, the mountain never left her.
Peggy made her career in banking, becoming the first female Operations Officer at First State Bank, She finished her career with the IRA, retiring from there in 1989.
Peggy loved “shopping, hair and nails”, always ready to go out on the town. We will all miss the lunches, libations, and good times spent at home with her on her deck where she enjoyed her view of the mountain, her yard, and the hummingbirds.
Everyone who knew Peggy will be forever touched by her extraordinary care, generosity and absolute devotion to her family. She was the glue that held us all close.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Shelton (Slick) Lough, in 2003. She is survived by her children, Gary Ferrill, Ron Lough, Scott Lough, and Shelley Selkirk; her grandchildren Jessica Webster-Pelinski, William Webster, Steve Lough, Jennifer Ross and Eric Lough; and her great-grandchildren Isaiah Dinsmore, Breyden Errett and Stella Ross; and her best friend and companion, her cat Mercy.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at the family home, in West Linn, where she spent the past 49 years. Family and friends are welcome to gather with us in her honor on Sunday, October 27, at 2:00 pm, 2420 Hughes Dr, West Linn, OR.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Elks Children’s Eye Clinic at the Casey Eye Institute.
