The Strongest Family Hood River Ever Met.. The Hanels!

Having grown up with the Hanel tribe in Odel as kids we admired our parents and grandparents for their old ways and admired their sense of adventure, nature, and most of all INTEGRITY! There is no way one family raises one kid, from my childhood here in the gorge and Alaska commercial fishing, I understand that clearly. After moving away to Santa Cruz and raising my children and preparing for becoming a proud Grandma someday it is more evident and clear to me now more than any time in my life how important it is for my/our generation to carry that torch of integrity, family values, staying connected to our roots while honoring the future and what we have learned as we, the next generation move out to explore the other parts of our world and bring back to our little town the best parts of the cultural benefits and ethics we learned on our journey. There truly is no other community in the world like what we have here. Thank you Hanel family for all you did for my family, all the folks your investments, companies large and small, family vacations, especially Adele for teaching me how to wrangle a mountain man and stay loving and kind mothe and wife, Bill, Bob, David there are no words for our childhood and time as neighborhood kings and queens of four wheelin, dirt bikes and bucking the system and still smilin, Ronnie for teaching me everything I love about horse power and fake tanning, Brad sweet and crazy kid with heart of gold, so many more. It takes a tribe to raise a kid and our town raised so many great kids and now us kids need to pay it forward. Monday night Brad got the call from Tyson and Michelle and it was time to go say goodbye to Bob. The love and synergy in this blended family was so calm and beautiful. I have done so much hospice/cancer/end of life work in my volunteer life outside of technology and thought surely I was prepared to help and support here, but when I felt the hugs, laughter, memories of BUCK MOUNTAIN saw Tyson, Kay, Brad and Michelle it was clear nothing is an accident, Kay and Tyson were the other part of my great family role models that loved me up as a kid and we shared ski races, crazy sleep overs and sailing trips up in Canada. If it were not for these experiences of family values and love I would not have been the parent I am and have the blessings of peaceful power and love I have today. Sorry for being so long winded but I would rather write this and give my official blessing and gratitude so that in person I can just hug, smile and support this wonderful family that has so much past and present influence of love and hard working folks in my life! NEVER FORGET YOUR ROOTS! Love and light, Shannon Stair-Beamon and family
