Nancy Lee (Hayden) MacKay of Weymouth, MA and Hood River, OR died peacefully on October 12, 2013 after a brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Susan MacKay and Weymouth, her son, Peter MacKay and his fiancée Tiffany Jenkins of Santa Clara, CA, her grandchildren Katharin & Jordan Burke of Cambridge, Sara Blackerby of Weymouth and Matthew & Katie Blackerby of Easton, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Kali, Sophia, Charlotte, Emmitt and Adaline. She is also survived by a close cousin, Marsha Lang, her best friend from childhood Mary Smith and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Evelyn Anna Clapp and Leland Hayden, as well as her brother Robert Hayden and her sister Joan Parsons.
A 1954 graduate of Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA and always a social person, Nancy was a talented seamstress who often did alterations for other people. A gathering will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Deware Funeral Home in Quincy, MA with a celebration of life service to be held immediately after at the funeral home. This service will be followed by a graveside service at Mt. Hope cemetery in South Weymouth, MA.
