Life Story for Phillip Paul Corky Keizur

Phillip Paul Corky  Keizur
Phillip Paul (Corky) Keizur was born on December 5, 1927 in Hood River to Onie (Butch) and Mary (Horn) Keizur. He laid down his earthly body on Friday, September 6th, 2013 surrounded by those he loved and went to his Heavenly Home.

Services are planned for 11:00 am Thursday September 12, 2013 at Idlewilde Cemetery (980 Tucker Road Hood River, Oregon 97031) followed by a luncheon at Anderson’s Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Ave. Hood River, Oregon 97031) with viewing hours prior on Wednesday September 11, 2013 10:00 to 5:00pm.

As a young man, Phillip worked in the Sawmill for a few months and then started driving log truck at the age of 18. He drove until his retirement on his 70th birthday. He owned his own truck which he maintained meticulously and earned the handle “Ditch-Cleaner” by going in the ditch with his truck. He was affectionately known as Corky by friends and acquaintances. Phillip also was a volunteer firefighter

He married Esther Helms May 4, 1946 at the Assembly of God in Hood River, they had four sons: Rodney, Leo, Clyde and Daniel. He was a long time member of the Assembly of God.

Phillip loved camping in his travel trailer with his family and friends and he liked to go drink coffee and swap stories with what he called “The Liars Club”. Although his wife insists he never told a lie.

The family describes Phillip as a very helpful, loving and generous man.

Phillip is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 67 years Esther Irene, sons Rodney and spouse Sheryl of Hood River, Leo and spouse Sharon of Stanfield, Clyde and spouse Mary of The Dalles, Daniel of The Dalles, his nine grandchildren, Randy Keizur, Jill Szeremi, Amie Anderson, Adam Keizur, Aaron Keizur, Teresa Dodson, Jacob Keizur, Christopher Keizur, Phillip Keizur; twenty two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Onie and Mary, his twin brother Paul Phillip, brother Victor (Buster) , his three sisters Marie Slaughter, Daisy Barrett and Jean Prinzing.

Memorials are encouraged to be made in Phillip’s name to Grace House Ministry’s. 624 E 12th The Dalles, Oregon 97058.
