Joyce Jane DeHart passed away August 2, 2013 in Portland Oregon surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 1, 1930 and was 83 years old at the time of her passing.

Joyce was born in Oregon City, Oregon to Paul and Mabel Marie (Nicholson) Wickwire. She moved with her family to the Hood River Valley area attended schools in the area. She married Robert “Bob” DeHart August 4, 1965 in White Salmon, Washington; they divorced but remained always close.

She had many different jobs growing up working in the hop fields picking hops. Later she worked in hospitality industry working in restaurants and taverns. She owned the MT. Hood Cafe of which she really enjoyed. Until she was no longer able to work in she worked at Tip Top Tavern.

She enjoyed doing beading and making Christmas decorations out of beads. She also liked to Russian embroidery. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Joyce is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Connie McKinnis of Portland, Oregon and Becky Beckel; sons, Donald J. Wickwire, Lonnie Dehart & Steven Dehart; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren

In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Pitzer, step-daughters, Christy Bridenbach & Ada Neufeld; sisters, Darlene Peterson, Donal F. Wickwire; brother, Michael Neufeld nephew and niece Roberta Wamboldt

Services are planned for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10th, 2013 at Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031. Pastor Bobby Beachaump of Parkdale Baptist Church will officiate. Private Graveside Rites will follow at the Pine Grove Butte Cemetery.
