Life Story for Josie Ivone Delepine

Josie Ivone  Delepine
Josie Ivone (Baker) Delepine passed away August 4th, 2013 at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital with family by her side, she was born November 3 1936 and was 76 at the time of her passing.

She was born in rural Willow Springs, Missouri on her Grandfather Baker's Birthday, Election Day and passed away on her oldest Granddaughter Nicole’s Birthday August 4, 2013. She was the oldest of three daughters born to James and Dorothy (Bryan) Baker. She attended a one-room schoolhouse and at age 12 was baptized in a stream on their 600-acre farm. Her parents came to the Northwest in the late 40’s and then back to the farm and then back to the Northwest where she attended Pine Grove grade school, then Wy'East High School where she was a classmate of her husband to be John Delepine. They graduated in 1954, after graduation she worked in the office for Hines Lumber, in Dee Oregon. Married in 1955, they lived in The Dalles until 1965 where all four children were born. She worked at The Dalles General Hospital from 1959 to 1965 when her husband's work brought them back to Hood River.

She had a child care service for a few years, and then she worked at the Hood River Hospital before going to work for Dr. James Wade as a Receptionist for 14 years. After retiring John and Ivone started a new career in Estate Sales in the early 90’s until the present time. They connected with old friends and made many new friends through their business. Their 14 grandchildren were a big part of their lives. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church The Dalles and Hood River First Baptist Church.

She will be greatly missed by her husband John Delepine of Hood River, children: J. Michael (Analyn) Delepine of Longview, WA, Scott M. Delepine of Hood River, OR, Lisa M. Viles (Tom) of St. Johnsbury, VT, Steven M. Delepine of Vancouver, WA and grandchildren: Nicole, Michelle (Patrick), Matthew, Jessyca (Eddie), Ashley, Natasha, Allie, Patricia, Tyler, Jonas, Rylea, Maiah, Travis, Scarlett and sister Betty M. Reese (David) of Seaside, OR, brother-in-law Ted Nisley of Madras, OR, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Bernice Nisley and her parents.

Services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at Anderson's Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031. Pastor Bruce Parker and Oscar Stenberg, III of First Baptist Church will officiate and she will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Butte Cemetery.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, Hood River, in memory of Ivone.
