Obituary for Beverley Anita Rowland (Sherrell)

Beverly Anita Rowland of Hood River passed away on January 15th with her daughter Jill Rowland at her side. She was born to Ralph S. and Lodene M. Sherrell in Hood River, Oregon on June 1, 1937. Beverly grew up in Hood River and graduated from Hood River High School where she was a drum majorette and active in the band. Beverly was very active in the community. She owned and operated a local flower shop, Bev’s Flower Basket, for over 26 years. During that time she served as a county commissioner. Being highly respected she achieved the position of Chairman of the Board. She was an integral part on the team that created the Harvest Festival. She sold her flower shop and moved to Pasco Washington were she was a social case worker dealing with the homeless. She very much enjoyed helping people. After dealing with a bout of cancer she retired and returned to Hood River living with her daughter Jill and son Scott.
