Condolence: My first memory of Ed was not long after I moved to the Gorge, early 1995. I was looking for a bike mechanic and Kay Kucera took me to see Ed at Mtn. View when its was up in the Heights. Some of my bike related questions amused Ed and his respnse's had a friendly sort of sarcasm and wit. I liked him right away and he bacame a good friend. I have enjoyed many camping. biking, XC skiing, eating, drinking, listening to music, watching the Tour with Ed and partaking in his wonderful Super Bowl chili with he and Christy. Many wonderful, fantastic dinners with Ed and Christy...if they had opened a restaurant it would have been the best place to eat in town.

I have many, many wonderful memories of Ed and would to share just one.

Camping at Lewis River, with Ed and Christy, and Dick and Dave. We rode the Boundary Trail which is a fairly long hard ride. About ten miles into the ride my rear derailuer literally exploded and Ed and I crawled around until we found every part and he put it back together and off we went...only to have some rear spokes break with allowed the rear brakes to rub a hole in the tire...so we patched it up with a safety pin, athletic tape and some thread. The tire would only hold about 15 lbs of air and I had no rear brakes for what was a long challenging ride, which of course required varilous form of rehab once back at the campsite, liquid and more. Ed always said that everyone makes it out alive on a mtn bike ride. Thanks Eddie, steady Eddie. I love you and I do miss you

Condolence: I will never forget Ed. He was the quintessential "Patio Daddio". Always keeping the party going and making everyone happy. Incredible music selection, awesome chef and great host! Such a gentleman and a joker. Love you Eddie.
